obsessed with fall knitting

It's Indian Summer up in Northeastern part of the United States, somewhere in central Massachusetts. The colors are starting to change on the trees, should point my camera outside and up I guess, instead of pointed to my latest knitting nonsense...so what am I up to...fall colored sweaters, pumpkins, acorns, squirrels, and lots and lots of leaves...some knit some crochet. still working on the secret project, call it #2, as there is another project, just for bringing to Rhinebeck, Secret Project #1, which is on the home stretch.

cattails, knitted and felted, fall leaves, cream colored yarn knitted, hand dyed, then felted, with a peek at project #2 in the background

knitted pumpkin, felted afterwards. pattern is from Knitty. garden fork, knitted tool...sorry out of my head pattern

Just have to chuckle at some of the things you can find on the internet. One of my favorites is called Stuff on My Cat. see: http://stuffonmycat.com/
I particularly like the wigs.

My version of stuff on a cat, Tic Toc in her green hat. she looks like a spy or something.

More Packages in mail from Europe & Rhinebeck

Got yet another package today from England, how exciting.
Love that Royal Mail sticker on my package. also finally
got listed on Knitting Blogs today. So happy. Joined the
Greater Boston Knitting Guild today too. Everyone was so
nice and friendly, and such awesome ideas. My head is still
spinning. Knitters are such a lovely, friendly bunch of people.
Have my bus seat all paid for to go to Rhinebeck,
the NY Sheep and Wool Festival October 20, can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!
See: http://www.sheepandwool.com/

As for what is on my needles...................
I am now hard at work for a secret project to take to
Rhinebeck just as everyone else seems to be making projects just for
Rhinebeck. I may enter it in the Holiday KAL-CAL:
http://holidaykalcal.blogspot.com contest too,
as it will fit that category well, if it comes out like I hope.
Stay tuned.

AND....I am hard at work on secret fall project #2,
see peek below. apple basket is done, handle needs
to be attached, and have a lot more apples finished,
but is only a small part of a bigger project.
stay tuned.

I also crocheted, and then felted small wallet, then needle
felted on design for a finishing touch.
Patttern is from Lion Brand, make it yours purse: http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/70193A.html

A Surprise in the Mail

It's happy time
around here again....
I received my package from a great friend in England. love that
Royal Mail sticker.

Inside was a lovely sheep picture,
I take lousy photos, but love all things sheepish...especially this,
how did she know.
There was also truly awesome overseas
Chocolate truffles yum.....
and best of all lots of lovely yarn.....................

all I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you...you sure made my day!!!

And of course the days are getting longer, and the nights are getting nippy,
so am now squeezing in an occasional fall project.

fall leaves with dried acorn, leaves are crocheted. see pattern at following site.

Crocheted apple magnet http://www.crochetmemories.com/archive/misc5.html
Both of these items
were gifts for a US friend.

Of course, I am still knitting as well so stay tuned for more hats...yes it has become
an obsession.............plus I just received the book...Itty-Bitty Hats.
there should be a lot more warm heads out there this winter.

By the way, the charity group I knit my hats for is:

The Knitting Connection http://www.theknittingconnection.org/

"No child should be without a hat, mittens, and a Christmas stocking..."Sue A. Manning 10-29-99
The Knitting Connection's mission is to support children and families with crafted items utilizing the artistic talents of volunteer knitters, crocheters, and quilters. We connect people from the community to support each other during their time of need. This link, from one end of the spectrum to the other, forms a bond of support, understanding, and love.

Just sharing, in case anyone else is interested. they will take not just knitting, but crochet and sewing too. check out their site.
Have a lovely week and enjoy the weather as the seasons are changing fast...............

Even more charity hats....

still knitting...of course...trying to complete my hat collection to donate to charity
for this October...have a nice stash going at this point... the white hat, appeared
as cream in the photo when I tried to get a nice close up, it's a standard roll brim
hat pattern that I just added some flowers and tiny pearl beads to accent.

The multistripe hat, is actually not baby, but child size and is from
Ravelry, love that site, was on the "Hats, hats, hats" group as a freebie
pattern, not sure if you can access it, if you are not yet on Ravelry.

The burgundy and gold hat is of course one of the House Hat patterns, came out rather large, but hopefully a nice gift for a boy. added the emblem for this house...Gryffindor.

Not sure if I will knit anymore hats now, as fall is approaching and anxious to knit cold weather projects, actually now working on mittens....as I hear my needles calling to me, I will cut this short, unable to knit and type, unless I train my toes..............
